Our goal is to combine the many talents of parents, teachers, and school administrators to create an environment at Oak Forest Elementary that best serves the diverse needs of our students. We encourage you to join us in making our school the best it can be and a place of growth and learning for our children.
Welcome to OFE for the 2026–2027 School Year!
My name is Tiffany Piccirilli and I am thrilled to serve our Oak Forest Elementary community this year as President of the PTA. This is one of two (extra) magical years for our family with all three of our kiddos at the same school. My husband, David, and I have Bobcats in 4th (Tucker), 1st (Parker) and Kinder (Spencer). We've been waiting for this year not only for one drop off (score!), but because we've all known how incredible of a place OFE is since our first stroll down the Rainbow Walk. This will be such a special year for my children and yours.
My path to serving as President of the PTA was somewhat fast and furious, serving first as Second Vice President of Fundraising and then as President Elect. I've been grateful to join a fabulous group making an impact at OFE, our Long Range Planning Committee, and also supporting our teachers and administration on OFE's Shared Decision-Making Committee. Whatever path is right for you and your family, I do encourage you to get involved at the school. The efforts of so many families make a huge difference, and I know you'll find it rewarding. As a full-time working parent, I understand it is a challenge to balance all of the things and be everywhere at once! For now, I hope you will join the PTA, experience some of the joyful moments in the classroom, and think on how you may want to make an impact at our amazing school. We would love to get you involved!
It is no secret that Oak Forest Elementary is an extraordinary place. Our teachers, staff, and administration are the best of the best - and we shout it from the rooftops! You're going to experience exceptional classroom instruction, support for your children's needs, frequent communication, and fun and enriching programming and events. To accomplish this, our nearly 100 PTA Board members plus additional volunteers work with our teachers, staff and admin to create one TEAM OFE!
As you've heard, our school theme this year is "May the Forest Be With You." It is sure to be a year filled with creativity and curiosity. Our Bobcats will be encouraged to use the force within them as they learn and grow. Importantly, they will also use that force for others. Bobcat Parents, we invite you to embrace the theme as well and use your force to help make every day a beautiful day at OFE.
To our kindergarteners, new students and new families - welcome to the Forest. To our 5th graders and all students, families, teachers, staff and administration - may the Forest be with you, always.
All my Bobcat pride,
Tiffany Piccirilli
OFE PTA President, 2026-2027
A Message from Our Principal
Dear OFE Community,
As we begin another year together, I'm honored to serve as your principal. My name is Andrew Casler, and my passion lies in creating a positive learning environment for all our students.
Now beginning my 10th year at Oak Forest Elementary, I'm continually impressed by the creativity and expertise of our teaching staff. We believe in creating cultures of thinking that help students learn new concepts and then apply what they've learned through projects and other performative work that deepens understanding.
As a school community, we're guided by one essential question: what will our kids be like when they are adults? We're committed to nurturing the thinking dispositions and habits of mind that help them grow into thoughtful, kind, and curious learners.
My wife and I have two amazing kids, Madeleine (11) and Eli (7), who attend HISD schools while we call Westbury home. Our house has gotten a little louder lately too — we've added a third dog, a Great Pyrenees-lab mix, to the family, and she keeps all of us on our toes. When we're not chasing her around, we love gardening and cooking together.
In my free time, I engage in hobbies such as barbecuing, golfing, and reading science fiction novels. As a two-time graduate of the University of Houston (Go Coogs!) I love staying connected to my alma mater, both professionally and by cheering on the Cougars, especially during basketball season.
Our theme this year is "May the Forest Be with You" — a fun nod to Star Wars' 50th anniversary and to our identity as a forest here at Oak Forest. It's also an invitation for our Bobcats to discover their own driving force, and the force that connects us as a community. I'm looking forward to another great year with all of you.
Warm regards,
Andrew Casler
