I am a traditionalist when it comes to Halloween. You get one day. Go wild. That’s it. But I have to confess, a midweek Halloween is not my fave. It’s Thursday this year, which is definitely better than Tuesday or Wednesday, but it always leaves us feeling lacking over here in this house.
That’s why I was so excited when they moved the fall festival up a week!!! No post halloween blues. Just head over to OFE for some good old fashioned fun.
The theme this year is “Bobcat Homecoming.” There will be BBQ plates from Gabby’s and all the usual carnival fun. Confetti eggs. Really that’s all you need is confetti eggs. And a bunch of kids running around smacking each other in the head. Makes for a fun and perfectly safe combination. There will also be teacher-made cakes at the cakewalk and an inflatable climbing wall plus all of the other usual fun.
There is no reason not to go! Plus all kids get a Bobby Bracelet for free. Which means they get
all the activities: face painting, inflatables, games, cake walk, magician shows, carnival games, and ONE dozen confetti eggs just for attending the school. We used to have to buy these things and they weren’t cheap. But the catch is, you MUST register your child for this by October 28th. Additional bracelets can be pre-ordered for any other friends or siblings or purchased at the door on the day of the event.
Adults do not need a Bobby Bracelet and there is no cost to attend the event itself.
Besides the plates from Gabbys, (which also must be preordered) there will also be Papa John’s pizza, Raising Cane’s chicken, ice cream, popcorn, candy and snacks available for purchase with tickets.
Your pre-orders can be sent in with the paper ticket form that was sent home with students or ordered on-line in the Bobcat store. The deadline for all pre-orders is Monday, October 28th and don’t forget to visit the fall festival page of the website for a schedule of special events like the OFE birthday celebration and cake!
It really is so much fun. So much fun, in fact, that even certain middle-schoolers I know are excited about going. It’s just one of those things that becomes a part of the magic of childhood.
